I'm with you Chris.. some day hope to wander around the koi shops/breeders in Japan as well. From what I gather it's best for 'first-timers' to go with/meet up with someone who's been a few times,... at any rate it's a trip worth while planning.

I have been to Japan once many years ago on a business trip, sadly I did not have time to visit any of the Koi farms :( , if I had the chance I would love to go again.:)

I don't know if I'd want to see the fish or the gardens :grin: I'm torn :smile:

I would love to go again, but I owe the wife and daughter some trips to other destinations first :(

Next time I go, I want to rent my own vehicle (if possible) and be in as small a group as possible, with just a couple very serious koi people with me, Like say Luke and one or two others. Go where we want, when we want. Wanna stop and look at a shrine, go do it.

Luke has the eye, I think I could learn alot from him on a trip like that. Hes probably the only one with such expertise that I could get to go with little ole me :roll: I dont think I would share a room with him tho.... And not just for snoring reasons. :frisbee:

Lets see, gotta take the girls to DisneyWorld, Hawaii, and Mexico before I can even think about another Japan Trip. Not to mention I need to learn how to effectively deal with parasites before I even think about bringing home any more koi. So lets call it a 10 year goal.... Say 2015 !wow! Hey, I'll only be 48 then :(
