Well I drove to Canadian Koi and Pond today and met Ian and Terri. They gave me a nice Shiro utsuri to replace one I lost(jumped outa the tank) and I purchased a couple new additions for my pond I couldn't help myself. They had so many cool fish if I had a bigger pond I would have gotten more. Next year I start digging again. :-P
While I was there I got to ask them about a million questions and saw what this disease of mine looks like in the later stages. I can only hope my wife is as understanding as Terri.
All I can say is they are very nice people and it is definately worth your while to take a drive out there some day and check out their fishes.
Thanks Ian and Terri

Did they warn you about the fish splashing you or did they let you find out the hard way? Yes, I always have to remember that I'm overstocked as it is when I visit. Seeing all those healthy fish really shows that Terri's fish keeping abilities are par excellent.
What did you get ta2ude?

They gave me a black and white Doitsu to replace the jumper. We bought a Shiro Utsuri for my father in law for christmas and I got a Yamabuki and a Showa. The Showa is my new favorite fish. Now I need to find a home for my goldfish and other pondfish as I realize I don't want to take up valuable space with anything other than Koi. The visit only made me sicker.

You lucky dog you!! I'd love to see their setups and fish..in person..!! I know it's got to be even better than looking at the pics. I'm jealous!
And it only gets worse from here!

Father in law has a "water garden" with koi and goldfish in it. Keeps him busy in his retirement years.

Its a disease alright!!! Well at least your father-in-law understands it and perhaps can explain it to your wife.
We gave Ta2ude the gift of a ONE of a Kind, VERY VERY Rare, Canadian born, doitsu shiro utsuri, it also seems to have ginrin scales down it's back. Older photo of it, wish we'd got one before it left...

I have to say the new additions to my pond have made a real difference, not only in looks but personality as well. My other fish were very afraid to come to the surface for food but these new guys have changed that. Ian and Terris fish are aggressive feeders and managed to bring that out in my fish as well. Now all you have to do is throw in a few pellets and stand back and watch the frenzy. The yamabuk, "trmaker's fish" actually body checks the other fish outa the way to get the food. I think he/she has become the new dominant fish of the tank.

Yes, I agree that Ian and Terri's fish have been well trained and are a welcome addition to any pond... have a couple myself and one on hold if I can find room for it. Seems Ian is afraid of mean old Tweet so no trade in :frisbee:
Jackie dear, your Shiro utsuri(black and white tiger/zebra striped like fish:frisbee: ) is patiently waiting  Like we need another yellow koi :-P

Now Ian, I've seen your fish... trust me, this is the one you need, large, nasty hates shrimp ,and loves to splash people. Would fit right in. I could paint him any colour you like
Looking forward to finding room for the new cow fish
