Ok...this is my very first pond folks so go easy on me. I am still working on the surrounding plant life...
Any how...I am posting pictures, specifically to ask for suggestions regarding on of the larger plants in my pond. I bought this "all in one" potted plant from home depot and in it is like 5 different varieties of plant...well needless to say it has taken off. I am afraid its out growing its pot. Do you think it would be safe for me to pull the entire pot out and remove the plants and cut the foliage in half and plant 1/2 back into the original pot? and the other half into a new pot? I already have several super huge pots in my pond that could do with some extra plants in them.
Any how take a look..suggestions welcome... ;)

Very pretty pond. Looks like a nice spot to sit and enjoy the world.
As for water plants, most of them are weeds and can take a real hard prune and handlingwithout any damage. You may want to separate the plants in case some are tropicals and need different treatment for the winter. But I often use a saw to cut my water plants apart so don't let it intimidate you. You may have to cut itout of the pot... I've ruined more good pots that way, leaving the plants in too long.

I think the first pond is the best Flutter..after it's done it's like being a kid in a candy store...so much fun to mess with it and accessorize
That plant is huge! Looks like you could get plenty of starts.
How big is the pond? Gallons?

Its about 4000 gallons. The dimensions are 20x16.5
Okay another question. Do I need to turn off my pump and drain out all my lines and filters for the winter??? Or will the moving water keep it from freezing?
Thanks

What type of winter temps do you have? Do you intend to run the system all winter or just part of it?

Well I only have one system to tell you the truth. I have 2 filters and a 3600 gallon pump. Our temp usually do not stay low for very long...but we can get into the 20's, I am in North East GA...not terribly cold...but things do freeze here. :)

If you are planning to run the system then the pipes will not freeze, if buried they may not freeze if you don't run it but I'd drain them to be safe anyway.
If you run the system be sure that the water returning to the pond doesn't disturb the bottom where the fish are. The colder water running over them will lower their resources.
