You're using an aquarium filter?
Jojopotato

Yes, but I've got to come up with something better, That things gotta be cleaned almost every other day... I am also using a pump inside of a basket with filter material(scrubbies Etc.) That needs cleaned about weekly... This could be a long winter... :-?

JoJo you'd be better off with a mechanical filter before the scrubbies, it will still need to be cleaned but the scrubbies should be biomedia and not cleaned that often.

Thanks, I just figured out the aquarium filter I have is for twenty gallons.. I guess I will be shopping for a bigger one... That should help... Would you stick to the filters that come with it or would you use scrubbies in it? as for the pump its just in a small pot with scrubbies and I only clean the pump when its plugged..

Jo Jo, I'd do a Bickle or Ian tub filter. cheaper and easier and work better. Have to do one myself. Not a DYI myself but I'm trying. Sometimes its the only thing that works. If you really need to do the aquarium thing get one that does 100 gallons. Goldfish are dirty and 47 gallons for 6 of them is too small.

Have you seen those Tetra ones? I had one last year...mine was the submursible but I set it up above the tank..
Would maybe be overkill but you wouldn't have to clean it so often.

What's the price range Busy?

Here they are spendy but so is everything else. Especially aquarium filters..but when the fish go back outside they can be used there too.

Yeah my bioforce goes back and forth but its broken and will cost me 70.00 to get parts for it, every 2 years apparently... an O ring and a sponge... seems pricey to me. So I'm still hoping to do diy.

Don't thank us yet, we haven't found a solution for you.

I set mine up on top of the tank with a sub pump feeding it..assorted matting and scrubbies and the water spilling back into the tank. Was a PITA as a submursible setup in the pond. But I didn't buy the one with the spraybar because it wasn't available here.
