View Full Version : some individual youngsters
Check out the interesting netting pattern on third pic. Also, it is hard to tell because the light conditions were low, but the color of the koi is almost a pale orange on the surface and a cream color under netting. Will hang on to this one awhile. Will be interesting to see what it develops into.

First pic, wow lovin' the head pattern
Second pic, is that the little one you focused on in the vid?
Third pic, nice netting, wish I could see the underlaying colour.
When will you begin culling these guys? Or is the plan to do it al in one shot when you brng the others up from the mud pond?
I hope to get better shots of third koi. The underlying skin is a creamy orange. Dont know how else to describe it. I have never seen it before.
The second pic is one of the lemon colored koi. These koi in the tank were brought home from a random scoop at main pond to help kick off the bio filters. Most are probably culls, but there are a few that warrant a closer look  Will keep them in the tanks for biological fodder until I start bringing the candy home from grow on pond.
I net the main pond about once a week....small sections at a time.....
and then cull, returning all of the hopeful and interesting ones to a seperate grow on pond which I will probably harvest in sept or oct. The wait is killing
me!!!!
And yes, I love the head pattern on first koi. Very striking. he is always fighting the huge yamabuki babies for position at feeding time.

Keifer they all look great to me!! I do love that head pattern as well. Mind all your fish seem to have personalities or maybe you only take their pics from their good side :)
I'm lucky to get any side they squirm so much. Typical children!
I heard u had a few little guys swimming around. How they doin?

Keifer, every day I look there are more of the little devils. I posted a couple of pics in the subtle changes thread. Inside guys seem to be holding their own against the outside ones so far.

Do like the first one the colors on all these guys are so vivid. I would have a very difficult time culling any of them, my husband always said I'd never make a good farmer either I'd make pets out of all the cows, pigs, sheep etc. and he's right we'd have to be crop farmers.
