Well maybe just dinosaurs?:-)

My collection of hens and chicks that I brought into the greenhouse are going to flower. Finally got my camera charger back and snapped a couple pics. Good thing I did...must of had a moose in the yard while I was gone yesterday. Had a hanging planter above them that either the moose knocked into or tried to eat. Now they are covered in soil and perlite:mad: While they? were here, were so kind as to eat my Little Grapeete Lilies and ferns that I had in pots..

And for laughs and giggles, a pic of some new additions to the dreaded rock necklace...In time, I hope, they fill in and soften..

Which reminds me Jackie...PM me your addy...I still need to send you some of the Angelina sedum. I have enough small starts that I can clip and send your way. In the pic, it's the lightest colored sedum.

My poor guys ahve to winter outside. They don't seem to mind. as long as their feet are dry.

Question, could I buy sedums, take them out of the pots dirt on roots and stick them in the rocks around the outside of the pond, or would the rain get in and wash the dirt off. I didn't want to add much dirt just in case of run off into the pond.

I just put my sedums on the lower edge of the rocks..unless it's the taller varieties...

My edge is sloped and under all that rock is the excess liner and at the lowest edge is typar..a road building material. I was trying to keep my weeding to a minimum

If you have soil by your edge they'll root pretty fast but they have to have some. If it rains and you see runoff now, just put them a little farther away.

I shake off most of the dirt and stick them in crevices, they do need some dirt but the potting soil is pretty harmless in the pond in the small amounts and once established they don't let any soil get away.

Merlin, as long as you weren't practising your pick up lines on those hens and chicks we'll forgive you !rofl
