Last weekend we completely drained the pond and cleaned out the drain pipe, took about two days to refill (well water). 3 days later it was GREEN, now it's really green,... and not a fish in it!

Ian has been working on the deck too as you can see. I really like that "rustic" look of the railings(which aren't finished yet), there's a staircase to come which will join a lower deck around the pond at ground level... as Ian has time.

I hope to get the pathway around the pond finished this year, might go with flagstone but not sure yet(I already got my anniversary present LOL)

Skimmer doin' it's thang....

It's been collecting A LOT of scum/leaves over the past week - looks oh sooo yummy!

We still need to get the filter outside, we're waiting on another pump to do so. We're also going to bit the bullet and get a UV... never thought we'd do that but I guess we're both getting "impatient" and our season is short enough without having to wait for clear water....

We've both been pretty busy over the past 2 weeks, seems that now with the warmer weather there's just not enough time in the day to get stuff done. I spent a better part of Sunday transplanting and dividing water plants.. and then planting my "mother's day" gifts :)

That's it for now... I'll add more here as we get more finished.

I like the railings a big improvement. Yes, never enough time to do everything. After seeing your water, I'll not complain about my string algae, at least my water is clear. :frisbee:

When do the fish go in???

Terri no UV !wow! Ok I know some don't like them as it is believed that they kill some of the good bacterier in the pond as well as the bad stuff, but boy do they keep the pond clear. I not sure if you are aware but I have two ponds, well I say two ponds, maybe I should rephrase that, I have my main pond where the Koi live and I have an old boat in my front garden which I have converted into a small pond for my tiddlers. :) ( well they were tiddlers when I put them in there) .

The UV packed up a few weeks ago and I have not got round to fixing it yet, the water is now so green I can't see the fish :( job for this weekend. :)

That angled cut on the deck really makes a different look. Great job !!

Green water... Oh yeah, about a half pound of chicken pooh works great
