Well I did another vacuum and water change today and decided that the water although cold wasn't as cold as last week in spite of the snow and sleet and heavy rain all weekend. Checked the temp and was very surprised that it would be that warm already considering as I said the weather.
Fish are up and munching away.

Jackie what do you use for to vaccum? I bought a Muck Vac awhile back. I tried to use it yesterday and it about killed me. It wouldn't pick up hardly anything. I have plenty of pressure. I am running it off a 50' commercial hose. There was a tremendous amount of water coming out of the end. It about broke my back trying to use it and keep it going. Any tips?

I think there is a trick to them. I use a wet/dry vac. The first one we bought wasn't powerful enough so we bought a bigger one. It has taken me a while to figure out how to use it. And it isn't easy on the back or arms. Still it will pick up gravel and sadly pulled the new leaves off the watr lily... oh well more will grow.
All the females look to burst they are so fat with eggs..

My water is still in the low 40's but the kids are out nibbling. Looks like next Wednesday for the redo! Can't wait to get it done.

Chuck do I sense a bit of a large project coming? What do you have planned on the redo? Take pics and post them so we can see :)

We sure do. Gonna take our 8x11 and make it 11x16 with a good part of it 36" deep. Should almost double the water volume. Also going to move the waterfall up the hill and make a 12' stream down to the new pond extension.
This is a before pic, the waterfall will go in the dirt right in front of the sidewalk. Supposed to do it on Wednesday, 4/13. I will post pics here and on ADI's website.

Toooooo nice out today, played my first round of golf this year and then sat by the pond and watched the kids munch. Spring may finally be here.
You are correct Jackie, this is the last one. Should have built it that big the first time.
Spent over $1,300 in vet bills and drugs trying to find out why my dog has low platelet counts. Naturally, everything is normal.

Dogs and fish will drive you crazy. You have a lovely dog I hope she's ok. Did similar with Skipper last year. Changed his diet and took him off meds, he's doing good and its only costing me time to make his food. He's meds were $200.00 per month...and he was still sick.
I agree with the weather Chuck. From here on, housework gets done when it rains, sunny days are for outside.

You are doing better than I as my pond was only 52F yesterday... Doubt if it gained any heat today brrr!!
Still I spoiled the fish with a small piece of shrimp each, for those that like it, although Elf got 3 pieces... he's a pushy thing.
