On Friday I worked in the garden in just a sweatshirt, not yesterday or today. The table and chair on one side and the tree branch on the other side are to prevent Amber from taking another swim in the pond. She fell in ... but is fine. But I bet the shock of that cold water woke her up!!

Jackie brrrrr. Now see you have the advantage on me. If it looked like that here I would never go outside! I keep trying to send this Texas heat up your way. I think my friend in Wisconsin is hogging it all! I will tell her to let some pass for you!

Oddly enough this storm is from you!!! coming up from the gulf but the cold front came from the west and we got this mess. To add to the problems the greenhouse heater decided to shut off.... finally got it started again, must find those instructions and remove them from the 'safe' place they are now and put them where I remember where they are. You can see your breath inside the greenhouse... no one is happy :-x

Jackie I am so sorry about the heater in the greenhouse! Man that stinks big time! I am glad you got it running again though. That could have been bad for everyone especially your babies :( I keep trying to send the warm up there. Now you have to get hold of Ozzierockman and tell him to stop veering the cold fronts up your way!

Want me to stop sending it that far?

Fish and plants look fine. I think the temp may have dropped at degree or two in the pond. My big concern is how long was it not working... with the temps in there being in the 80's during the day I wouldnot notice it wasn't coming on at night. The table is covered with pots and dirt etc from me potting up plants, so we haven't eaten ut there for a week...

probably got put out last night in the high winds. Only other time it stopped working was on a Chrsitmas Eve. Plants got frozen as it was the coldest night of the year that year and I only just checked things as we were going away for a few days. Should have seen us run to get all the plants into the house. No indoor pond then to worry about.

BTW t is still snowing here....

Jackie, sweetie - I've said it before and I'll say it again; you need to move!!!! It's 80 degrees here today and I've been moving all the plants, dividing some things, repotting others. Grass is green, dogwoods are blooming! YOU NEED TO MOVE! You are a warm weather person trapped in a cold climate! !dude

I always told my parents I was adopted  Truly I am a warm climate person. It seldom gets too hot for me. Smith and I fight over the airconditioner. He turns it on, I turn it off.

Now if Icould just win the lottery...

Looks like your on your way! I'm jealous.

Just wondering what April snowstorms bring besides bad humor  sure isn't May flowers.

What kind of heater do you have in your ghouse? Thermocouple seems to be the thing that always goes out on mine if the wind howls alot.

Its a natural gas heater and I do think the wind blew it out. Very strong winds last 2 nights and days... nasty stuff. Not too worried this time of year except I don't like the pilot to not be lit... The greenhouse is attached to the house....

Put some pansies in the front planters today. I may start throwing rocks at the Junco's if they don't move north soon You know it will snow if they are still around.

Does it have a thermocouple? They last a couple seasons. They are used to light the pilot light...if they get dirty it won't fire either.

I have no idea, it has a button you push and it clicks and poof the little fire goes on... its Smith's job to make the fire thing work. If he can't make it work its my job to phone the man that will....

That thing that clicks is the thermocouple...long copper wire with a skinny end to it...you can buy them at the hardware store for a few bucks.

Well it works fine then since it started the heater twice in two days. But thanks for the tip. Truly in 5 years its only been used 3 times now. Wish my car was that reliable.
