I wanted to share this piece. It is a commission piece that will be the centre of a kitchen island at a cottage in the Muskoka part of Ontario. The tiles depict a typical scene of the lakes in that area in the fall

Jackie, truly lovely! You just get better and better! As someone without an artistic bone in her body, I bow to you! That's just beautiful!

Thank you all. I love doing this type of work. I hope the client likes them, actually I almost hope she doesn't  Sometimes its hard to part with pieces this is one of them.

A couple of detail shots. I worried about the sumacs in the foreground but am very happy with the results.

Oh yes, I sleep. I'm not a fast worker at the studio so not a lot coming out these days. Some functional ware but mostly gifts... Wednesday I will start a tile project. The commission work has inspired me to do a large scene, I'll do some thumb sketches tomorrow. I'm babysitting the kilns on Wednesday so will have the studio all to my own self ...Yeah!! Big table and lots of room.

My biggest problem is too many ideas and not enough time. Hubby is now after me to do tiles for in front of the fireplace upstairs, I am designing tiles for the kitchen upstairs, I've a half worked out mosaic for the bar... not to mention a stack of sketches of fish... The snowdrops need a tile to celebrate their arrival. I've been working on some jewellery ideas and for some reason have been taken with faces so am doing little heads.... weird or what!!! They'll probably be jewellery.

I have a couple of garden designs past due... sigh... maybe I shouldn't sleep !rofl

You are going to end up with a "one of a kind" house!! Too cool!

My niece is back at it...she mostly does bowls but I love her glazes...that reminds me..I owe you a pic of her fish vase...soon, OK?

Actually we pretty much have a one of a kind house now and certainly the last one was. The house is a toy to play with for us. Spent Sunday moving furniture around. Looks better but I do wish we had decided to either leave the marble topped table upstairs or down. My legs are sore for carrying the top up and down the stairs so many times.... Still have some art to rehang, maybe tomorrow.

Yes, send pics. I got a big laugh out of Smith the other week. He came to pick me up at the studio and I showed him this lovely bowl I had made. He got this very blank look and said, why did you make a bowl? Like it was the oddest thing to make. He's so used to tiles and flat work he forgets that yes I do other stuff but not often.
