Just thought I'd share a pic of old Tweet, living the good life in his warm pond while his friends freeze in the dark.

I put a heater in, the calla's were dying :HAHA:
:HAHA: Nice of you to think of the plants. :HAHA: He looks good Jackie. One of these days I'll get an indoor tank set up to overwinter a few favorites inside. Finding the room for it is the problem.

He looks good Jackie, what kind of a heater did you use?
Sal
Tweet looks real good Jackie. I see his head is healing nicely. Would you like me to come help you move him back to the pond when it's time :frisbee:

Its a 300 watt aquarium heater. He hangs around it all day and probably all night.
Peg you are welcome anytime.
I think these flowers are worth the heating cost.

I agree the flowers are worth it. However the added beauty of the old guy is nice also......every year I try to talk DH into building an indoor area for the koi, but he hasn't come around yet.

Ron I haven't measured him but he fits sideways in the cooler which is 27" corner to corner.
Here he is with Fred, the exlumpy Wakin

Fred looks very good as well. Nice to see the lumps have not returned. Something to be said about the Miracle Animal. Are you still putting it in the water ???

I had stopped but have started adding a bit with each water change again. Put a few drops in the with guppies and the green water disappeared, but is back again. They have no filter.

They save my sanity this time of year. Usually a few flowering bulbs in the house this time of year and some cut flowers as well. Lifts the spririts.

Is it a treat? Or a health food? or?
Marg, It promotes all around good health and growth. It's in a liquid form witch is added to pond water. When I use mine I feel as though I'm offering a herbal tea as the aroma is quite strong.
I have used it for a year and a half now and love it, So do the fish. I mix it in with thier food, just enough to cover the food, let it sit to soak it up and feed. They go nuts for it. It goes a long way and helps boost digestion and minimize waste as well as helps the immune system. Check it out canadiankoiandpond.ca
Thanks ladies. I will have to see about getting some. I have a little time before I will be feeding my fish.
Checked my water and added more Baking Soda.....warm spell coming.
Maybe I will get to see some noses again. :yup:
Thanks,
Marg

The ice melted enough today for me to see a few noses, mostly GG's no sign of the injured one.
This is the waterfall taken yesterday: Spring, are you out there???

Fred looks good as do the plants, my Christmas cactus died, don't know why...it always bloomed at Christmas and Easter.....I have 2 more I'm going to get that are at DH's Aunt's that died, but I didn't want to move them in bud or bloom. Annie very cute cats...we use to have a Black one, great cat he was. Thanks for the info on Miricle Animal Never heard of it before. Welcome back Philly, I was thinking of you last weekend as we got almost 8" of snow, the last couple days have been warmer and yesterday rained almost all day, most of the snow is gone now and it has again gotten colder and will stay that way sounds like for most of the upcoming week.....I'm so going to have to go get some flowering plants to tide me over, the Orchids have buds but will be a while before they bloom.

Thanks Jackie / Marla, the trip was exciting for my parents, sister and husband, my nephew and his girlfriend :yesyes: as it was their first cruise compared to my tenth and the MRS 13th, the weather was quite warm but a little cool at nights and we got one night rain during the trip. Now I have too loose the few pounds gained around my waist and get use to not having the special treatment accustomed on the cruise and the food that goes with it, :crybaby: as for the snow that fell my niece and daughter shoveled the driveway for me. :-) I love those kids it gave me a chance to relax when I got back now I need 2 weeks to recuperate from this vacation.
!welcome back Phil glad to hear everyone had a good time.

Philly,
Glad you had a good trip and the weather was ok.
My sister just got back from a trip to the Carribean, terrible time, lost their luggage and it finally got back to them after they were home a week. Too cold for the beach, and all she had was a couple bathing suits in the carry one bag.
I tell her to take a cruise next time.

Sal, I hope the Airline compensated your sister for the lost luggage, it's hard when you spend all that money and don't get to enjoy it. :sosad: She will love a cruise doesn't matter weather if they like too take it easy or keep busy, my SIL loves the casino and bingo she usually wins or break even but they like to get the most out of the trip so when the ship is docked it's early to breakfast then off to shore to do things, I usually need another vacation when we get back as they try to get a full 18 hours out of every day. Boy do I miss the pampering and all that fantastic food on the ship, makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
