Pics of my first koi babies

Bad pics, but the best I've been able to get as yet. Maybe I'll have perfected it by the time they get to be big fish. :HAHA:
Nemo and Spot (another baby) with Jughead and Veronica., then just Nemo, Nemo and Spot, Nemo and Gidget (another baby), and then mom Midge.
Gidget and Ditto (no pics of Ditto yet), look just like their mom. They have the red front area and the snow white with lots of large black markings. Spot I'm not seeing any red, looks like a black and white fish to me. Nemo has a tiny bit of white on his sides.

Can't believe how big the babies are! You'll have a full house when they are all grown.

Glad your babies are doing well Cindy :) It's nice to have a few to enjoy watching develop and grow.

I must say, it must be because they're my first koi babies, but all the years I kept goldies, I never saw any grow at the rate these guys are. It's no wonder, all I see them do is poke around the bottom eating everything they can find. :HAHA:
They haven't gotten enough nerve up to come up to the feeding ring with the big fish yet, but 2 of them are coming up to mid pond level under the ring thinking about it, so it's just a matter of time.
They're smart, they know that mom Midge spits out everything except the hi-silk or shrimp (she's so picky and I made her that way), so they wait and nab everything she spits out, it's almost like she's intentionally feeding them sometimes.
I'm happy they've all got lots of markings. Going to be fun to see how they develop for sure. :grin:

Yes, if they are hanging around mid level it won't be long before they are up and feeding with the big ones. I love seeing the little ones swoop in and grab a pellet way too big for them and run off with it.

Last year we had the one koi baby and I too was amazed at the growth rate, they are so fun to watch.
