Pam, the pond looks much better surrounded by flowers!! Fish are starting to move and were half way up from the bottom yesterday afternoon. Marmalade looked like she expected to be fed...

and I see his grandfather left the matches handy so he could play with them.....
We are just happy the temps stayed above freezing last night for the first time this year. I figure spring will arrive on the first day of summer....

Things are slowly looking good here. My koi pond is clear in the shallow side but still ice covered on the deep side. Hopefully in a couple days it will be clear. I can see several fish swimming near the edge. My watergarden with about 30 G/F has been clear for about 2 weeks. Only lost one G/F.
I've been doing about a 2% water change each day for several days. This should help to get rid of some of the garbage built up over the winter as well as warming it up.

Yeah Spring has finally arrived.
I did a water change and got some of the string algae vaccumed out yesterday. Cleaned the skimmer mats and took a lot of aglae off the water fall. Water is cold on the hands though!! Still have a bunch of plants to cut down and may do some of that today. All the ice is off the pond and last night after dark the fish were up at the surface swimming around. Today they are closer to the bottom but munching on the algae. A few looked expectantly for food but not today.
Oh and the marsh marigolds have green leaves and one lily has leaves almost at the surface.... that's a hardy lily!!!

I know you must be tired of it, snow and all, but I think your pond looks very pretty and tranquil.
I'm sure that anyone would want a break from it eventualy.
I'll forward any warm weather I can and see if I can help also.

Bonnie, I hope you are soon feeling better. Shame to be sick when we finally have some good weather. With those temps you must have lilies coming up.
