Air Stone

What is the best way to clean off an air stone. I have a large 7" stone that has a build up of algea and it is not working at full steam. I tried scrubing it but that did not work to well. Right now I have it going in a bucket of salt at a high consentration. Anyone got a better idea???

Hydrochloric acid, or Muriatic acid as some refer to it... soak then rinse well. This was suggested by the airstone manufacturer for cleaning.
