Hi everyone , theses are pictures of Bernie he is the sole survivor of 12 koi. I am closing the pond for good and would like to find a home for him but I am unsure of his health. Can anyone tell by the pictures if he's ok? not sure if the two tissues(growths) on either side of his head near his eyes are normal.

Bernie is a very unusual butterfly ... and appears to be in good health. Those 'growths' are normal for longfin.

Other than a bit of stress signs he looks good to me as well. Those nose pompoms are very normal for long fins.

Thanks for the reply, I wasn't sure if that was normal. He seems ok , but we don,t want to leave him in that container long, so we'll have to take him to Vandermeer's tomorrow. I don't want anything to happen to him hopefully they will find him a good home. I'm not sure if they will give me anything for him, he's 16 inches long.
Thanks again

Certainly he will not do well in that container for more than a few hours. He will need that air pump and water changes. Good luck at Vandermeers.
