OMG !!! I love my new pond toy. Best money Peter ever spent :HAHA: Hooked her up and a way she went. I am Sooooo Impressed. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't spend my time or money on anything other then the Nexus brand of filters. I even cleaned it just for the fun of it. No wet feet, no wet hands and no algae spraying every where from the hose. It was so easy to put together, I did it with no help from Peter. Can't wait to get the pump and bottom drain going to it. Here are some pics of it running in its temp home for now. Pond is now sitting at 55F. May take the cover off this weekend if we have time.
Thank you Terri
P.S. It makes a gurgling noise every once in a while is that normal?

I'm glad you are happy with the Eazy Pod Peg :)

That gurgling noise is air going down the stand pipe with the water, no biggy, like a toilet flushing http://backyardpuddle.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Wonderful that you're loving your new toy. I see it is temporarily sitting above the waterline. Does this mean that your pump is between the pond and the filter to pump water out of the pond into the filter?

You mentioned hooking it up to a BD. Will you switch to a gravity-feed?

Hi raganwald,
Right now I have a small pre filter sitting on the bottom of the pond. Attached to that is a 950 gal pump that is pumping the water up to the Eazy and then gravity does the rest. I have a new pump coming in a few weeks that is an externial pump with a leaf basket. My plan is to hook the pump to the retro bottom drain and then split the return to both the Eazy Pod and the waterfall filter box. I will install a couple of ball valves to help control flow to each. The pod will be moved but will still be above ground for now at least. Last year I had four pumps in the pond. This will bring it down to three and next year I will get one bigger pump for the skimmer box to do the work of the two (1 - 950 gal & 1 - 3600 gal) have in there now.

Ah, pump-fed. I am jealous in one respect: everything is easier to clean than with a gravity-fed system. The flip-side, of course, is that if anything springs a leak, you can find the pump attached to the bottom drain emptying your pond :-(
