My parents bought a generator before they moved to their current home last year. It is a 650 watt I think Command King... sorry I wrote it down on a pice of paper and promptly lost it.

Anyway they are looking to sell it as they don't need it at the new house and it takes up a lot of room. They paid over $1,200.00 for it and are looking for $1,000.00, it is out of the box but never used.

I think generator prices have dropped. I bought a 6000 watt one for $650 last year.

You got a good deal. I can't find the model that my parents have on the net... so can't do a price compare. Electric start. The closest I can come is a honda and the price is 1,900.00 or more for a 6,000 watt.

Certainly I could not find a 6,000 watt one for your price.

I got mine from home depot, I was thinking mine was the next size bigger, but maybe it is this one is it 5000watt continuous, 6250 surge. I'll double-check this weekend. Pull start not electric start:

Put it up on craigslist and hope someone rich and doesn't care about prices wants it :HAHA: For real though, I think the price you put up is about right though because honda is "honda" so 1000 seems good for not a name brand item

Unfortunately the brand is not Honda, but some local canadian compay that isni't evenon the net... never used, so one doesn't even know if it works  not mine, if they gave it to me I'd take it.

Any takers yet? There are several differences between the units, eg. 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke (your neighbour will be taking pot-shots at you running a 2 stroke) Electric start is a must for large units.

I sized mine to run the furnace and a couple of lights in the winter, and the pond in the summer.

No takers but then I forgot to even look at it last time I was there. I don't think they are in a rush to sell it just don't need it where they live now.
