View Full Version : Taro Question
I got a Taro plant this year for the pond. Did good over the summer. I brought it in for the winter. The first week it did great. But over time the Leaves and stalks have started to bend over and turn brown. It gets indirect light most of the day. And I am keeping the roots wet as if it were in the pond. Should I cut back all the larger leaves. I would like to keep it growing for next season. This time of year should I treat it like a tropical and only water when dry ? Thanks for the help.

They don't like cold roots so they need to be in damp dirt or warm water with a fair bit of sun. My ones in the greenhouse are very unhappy as they are just dumped into a pot with cold water and cold temps. Certainly cut them way back, I did that before bringing them in. A few are startin new leaves and one is rotting... we will see, the one in the pond is doing very well, now that the pond is above 55F.
Thanks Jackie I'll does those things and see what happens.
