Nothing worse than snails IMO. If I have some sneak into my aquariums on plants I end up having to get a clown loach to wipe them out. Might be worth your while next year to get a couple for your pond. They won't hurt your fish and they do a fantastic job on cleaning out snails. Tropical, so you'll have to wait until the water warms up to at least 65. Pretty fish too, orange and black stripes.

Snails are one reason the checkvalve in the veggie filter can be iffy, caddish fly larvae in the main pond checkvalve; Mind I should pull the main pump and see what is causing it to rattle....Haven't noticed it slowing down though
