Greg asked to see a pic of my "yellow fish". He's a Yamabuki Ogon ~ 3.5 years old, bought him in 2002. He is incredibly bright. Since I was panning the Ogon, I also took pics of my other Chagoi and my Showa. These other fish are about the same age and the Chagoi is ~ 21". They are both females.

Those are some healthy looking fish!

I know that they say newbies to the koi world are attracted to the Ogons, but how can you not love that koi? Lemon Drop should be it's name

Love the showa too and would love close ups!

Here's a June 2003 Photo just after purchase and the same photo taken today. I chose this fish based on the Hi Pattern at the time. She has since lost some of the original Hi pattern, but the sumi has improved. She has also develop a slight deformity in the mouth. She is still one of my favorites because of the inky black sumi!!

Certainly a great looking baby. I can see why you picked it out of a crowd. Still pleasing to my eye.

The nice thing with showa is there can be more sumi to come. That changes the picture in a few more years and is what i love about showa. Interesting developement pic's.
The yami and chagoi are a healthy lot indeed. Big shoulder on the chagoi.
Thanks for the pic's.

My guys are all Nisai (2 year olds) I got them in Japan in October. The Yamabuki's are 16". They were both sold as males, but I think one is going to wind up female. Which would make me ever so happy.
