I went to the Nursery Saturday morning and picked up these plants. Heiko had went to town and returned with a bunch of stuff. I was in my woodshop working on that DIY filter. I came out the door and was blown away. He bought an Angel for me that is over 3' tall. He sat it in the middle of the new waterfall. He even got teary eyed but don't tell him I said it! My SIL had bought me 2 tiki torches for my Bday in Dec. She bought them for the bridge but I found a better place as you can see in the pics. There is plants that go behind where the angel is. Heiko took them down as he is working on the electrical for the UVc today. It will get there. Little by little!

Thanks Terri! I have a thing for Angels. Our fountain in the yard is an angel. I also have Angel figurines all in the yard. I even have a display of Angels in the living room on the Entertainment Center.

My S-I-L used to collect angels. I was always buying them for her out of different materials.

I love you new one Pam, Rembrandt has good taste in angels :D The waterfall is looking good, I like the colour combinations... keep those pics coming

Hello all

Wanted to add another pic to the waterfall.
This is the backside of it and what makes it work!
My "Tim Taylor" powered waterfall. It even has a light under it so there won't be any more fumbling around at night with a flashlight trying to plug and unplug stuff in the dark. :)

Cinn, sending it to you. You'll have to resize it for me. Thanks!

Here are a couple pics of the plastic pots I finished over the weekend for my plants around the waterfall. There were 4 orange ones and 8 light tan ones. Now they all match :-D I had made some a couple of years ago like this but bigger for plants on my deck. They turned out so nice I thought I would do these the same way so they will tie in together.

They look great Pam, and will set off the plants very nicely. Reminds me I have a huge ugly white one to paint before spring... we do we always wait until the last minute???

Jackie I am glad you liked them. I always try to do things ahead but somehow they never all get done in time. I have been pulling weeds out of the beds for the last 2 months  Everytime it is warm I go out there and see more! But that is not unusual around here! A funny story when I did the large plastic pots 2 yrs ago. I had finished them and they looked concrete. Heiko thought about calling a friend of ours to come down and help him move them. We didn't have to he came down. I said Just in time. I explained that when I painted them I didn't realize they would be so far from the deck and I couldn't lift them again. So he and Heikowent over there. He told him they were really really heavy to get ready. Well he did and he grabbed hold of it and almost threw it over his shoulder! We all died laughing! I could barely hold it to con him into doing it. !rofl !rofl

The first time I did this I used regular spray paint. That was 2 yrs ago and they are still holding up. This time I used Krylon Fusion paint for plastics. I will see which is best. Sometimes you just have to come up with ideas like this

How much ordour comes from the plastic paints? Need to know so I can decide if hubby needs to do the base coat.

Jackie it isn't bad at all. I did them outside but it would be hard for you to do outside right now :-( It really isn't bad at all. I have asthma and I made it fine. Heiko sprayed at the first one in my shop. I didn't do it in there because I didn't want green overspray on everything. My cabinets are white and the Martin House I am building had a fresh coat of white paint! The gold I use Acrylic Metalic. It comes in a little bottle. Cleans up with water. Then I spray a clear coat over that to protect that paint. I will go to the shop in a bit and get the names of it all for you.

Yes, I have asthma as well. Silly hubby sprayed in the house on Sunday... saying I didn't know it would smell like that... I asked oh so sweetly.... and just what comes out of a spray can that doesn't stink... even air fresheners send us both running... dumb bunny.

Would appreciate the names. I'm forever painting pots etc. an obsession I think !rofl

Jackie here are the specs on the stuff I use.

MinWax Polycrylic - Ultra Fast Drying
I can testify on this stuff. I just put one pretty heavy coat on the pots. My Seasonal Angels I make I put 3 coats. I spilled something on them one time and I didn't know it. It sat there for hours. I wiped it right off. I love this stuff!

DecoArt Gold Mettalic Acrylic paint. Cleans up with soap and water. It comes in a small bottle.

Krylon Fusion Paint for Plastics.
Interior/Exterior Great also for wood, metal, ceramics and more. You do need to use in a well ventilated area. But i didn't have any problem with it at all. If you do you can always buy some of the paper masks and wear them. I have a bunch in my shop as I have to wear them to sand wood etc.
