If there's enough time this summer I plan on starting another hole in the ground<:o In my existing pond I have Xavan? from Tetra...mostly trouble free but time will tell..
I have a hunk of Herculite...
Herculite® 80 is used for heavy duty, all weather applications. Herculite® 80 is a laminated fabric that is flame retardant, tear resistant, impermeable, mildew/rot resistant, abrasion resistant, versatile, ultraviolet resistant, and easy-to-clean. This material comes in 50” wide rolls.
As heavy as it is, I'm guessing there will be problems with folds...anyone with experience using this product...will it accept bottom drains?

I have never heard of the liner. But if it is 80 mil thick it will be very heard to work with. It will also cost a lot to have shipped if it's not local.

I already have it...I think it's 50 by 50 or so...been sitting in the yard for quite some time.
Can you tape the folds?
And wondering how it would work for stretching...guess I could cut off a piece and see..

mildew/rot resistant
Is it treated with anything? This may not be good for fish...?
You can tape liner folds, got to get it right the first time tho ;-) I don't know the pricing on liner tape, but I have a feeling it's not "cheap".

Graham is against anything that is treated with a fire retardent... for why you'll have to ask him

Yes...extra strong and heavy duty...does say on that site that it's used for agriculture...I didn't plan on throwing fish right in, if I were to use it...scrub it down well and leave it in the sun...it's been in my yard for years...
If all else fails, it could become a bog/water garden liner..

BB,
I'd love to have some of that....i'd lay it in a hole and build a brick wall on it and fold it up on the outside of the wall....sweet stuff.
Today I gave a guy a bunch of my hurricane spawn and some tategoi that i had to raise to just see what they'd look like when they got bigger ( they were a beautiful soft-gray blue as 2 inch butterflies.....they turned into soragoi and ochiba sigure..nothing worth keeping)....I'm getting a 20x25ft 45mil epdm for My pa....right now he has a preformed.....AND HE"S MY PA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

So Luke, can we just be clear, you have no worries about what this may have been treated chemically with? gosh thats bad grammar even for me...

It sure wouldn't hurt ot give it a good scrub, lay it, fill the pond and leave it be... just don't add any fish for a year if you want to be sure there will be no problems(or use a suicide squawd). Busy, you could always contact the manufaturer and see what if anything they use in the way of chems to treat the material... and ask if it's "fish safe". You're probably pretty safe since it been laying around for so long... anything on it would be gone(non-effective, or inert)...

For a whole year?
Crap...I knew when I did a search for it again, that I found the MSDS? sheet on it...have to go on the hunt again..

email the copmany and ask them... if it is dangerous they will certainly tell you, they don't want a lawsuit.
