Well certainly my greenhouse holds nothing like Busy's but today it had a few surprises for me.

Actually I went it to get pics of the fish... but they wouldn't co-operate so I looked around and hey!! better than silly old fish anyway!!

Marla, the funny thing is, when we were looking for a new house I didn't even want to come inside this one. Finally hubby convinced me and when I looked into the size of yard... unheard of in a big city and then saw the greenhouse was attached to the house... mine mine mine!!! Went over budget to get it and even more over budget to make the changes I deemed necessary and I am still not done but slowly we are making our mark. I probably could have built a greenhouse on a cheaper house... oh well...

The Clivia is in full bloom today so I thought I would share. It is one of my favourite house plants. nice green foliage all year and then this burst of long lasting colour.

and for those who like them some tulips, one only wishes they were blooming in the garden and not in a pot in the window...

Clivia are underused as house plants. They are very undemanding, needs little sun, bright light will do and they bloom for a long time. Only available, here anyway, at this time of year and I admit are pricey but almost impossible to fail with. Mine goes out in the summer under a tree in the shade but that is not necessary. There is also a yellow one, more rare so more pricey...

I can't say that I have ever seen one around the stores here at all. I do fancy the Orange, it appears to be such a bright tangerine color! :)
I saw a Rhodie that color I liked, but Oregon is like rhodie country, they grow wild here lol!

There is a selection of Rhodies called Northern Lights that have the most awesome bright colours, even a clear bright yellow and a hot pink along with the orange. I bought a couple but managed to kill 2 out of 3... so will have to put them back on the list.
