Thought I'd change gears tonight and give u a peak at some of the other thangs that we grow down here on the farm:)

One of the things we do when we git tired of watching the bug zapper is
go pleco eggin. Basically we dive the canals and lakes in the area at night harvesting Plecoctimus eggs found in deep borrows along the banks.

We bring them back and set them up in the hatching houses were the eggs are air rolled for a few days until the little suckers hatch. We fatten them up for another 5 or 6 days and send em to the ponds for grow out.

I love Plecos. I had one that lived with me for 13 years and then lived with my niece for another 5. Cedric was a great fish. Wish he'd had a better home than that old 20 gallon tank. Still he did alright. Used to suck on my palm when I was cleaning the tank. Funny I had no idea they were a native species.

Just too neat.... almost jealous Kiefer  I like plec's too, have had a few over the years in our aquariums - present one is a bristlenose the kids call Mr. Ugly (I think he's cute).

Actually it has been attributed to some snowbirding canadiens that didn't want to bother with transporting the fish back and forth in the Winnebago,eh? now explain who let you loose?

After 5 generations its been lost to antiquity who the ancestors were but certainly a mixed batch and some are still on the reserves. Like the plecos, we intrigrated pretty darn good.
