Good Morning, Hope your eyes are open and seeing clearly. Just got off the phone with a guy that wanted me to tell him how to be successful with selling ponds. He put door hangers on influential neighborhood doors and has'nt gotten a bite. I walked him through the Marketing book Greg wrote, the Sales and Marketing Materials and Exposure. He was upset that he cant get started and wanted me to tell him how to do it. I tried my best and he ended the call with a rather helpless tone and I feel I just let him down. :roll: I'm always pretty darn good with these guys and this one I feel I let slip away, maybe I need to open my eyes better today. :-|

B, he installed one in his own front yard and gets lots of compliments on it.
But, no bites. He is in Ga and that is a hot ticket, lot of successful guys out there. I guess some just dont understand that you have to spend money to earn it, he said he's spent a few grand on marketing...we discussed Trade shows and sending out the Create a Paradise videos but he declined again, too much investment. Guess I need to realize out of a few hundred your going to get one that you just cant please. Still, I feel like I did'nt make myself clear, cant save everyone I guess. :unsure:

It's gotta be his dream and not yours;-) Instead of marketing, I would of spent the money on product and used a guinea pig and built a pond at the "pigs" home:-) The more you do, I would think, the more you'll be able to offer..He's got to understand it takes a while to build a business. It just doesn't happen.

You're right, look at Jon and Bob...some read the testimonials though and think these guys just woke up one day and became successful. If that was the case would'nt we all be self employed, oh well, guess I'm kind of hard on myself and should'nt be. :-?

Seems to me, that folks with 'influence' want experience. I think he marketted the wrong area. Better to get a neighbour to buy a pond or hire him to help build. Still Nancy dear, his failures have nothing to do with you. Some can't even be lead to water :grin:
